***Update on the storm with severe weather from the long squall line and rain and wind in the northeast with the 2nd round of wind for late tomorrow into Friday and then a chillier weekend ahead***

- You can see the severe weather potential in the 2nd image from a squall line that will bring heavy downpours and thunderstorms with the potential for damaging wind gusts and even a chance for tornadoes and hail all the way up to Pennsylvania and extreme southern New Jersey. The squall line will weaken as it gets to the coast this evening with some moderate to heavy rain and wind (from the S/SSE) for Long Island. The HRRR and especially the NAM show the potential for localized rainfall amounts of possibly 2 to 4 inches in the mountains.

- With the increasing pressure gradient, a 2nd round of strong winds for the northeast will be late tomorrow into Friday afternoon with gusts generally up to 45 mph from the WNW with stronger gusts in the higher elevations.

- There could be a weak clipper for Sunday night into Monday morning with some snow showers for central to northern areas of the northeast and rain showers for southern areas.

- A big warming trend next week with temperatures probably in the upper 50's for New York city on Tuesday and possibly in the low 60's Wednesday and Thursday and slightly cooler on Long Island, especially for the south shore and east end. There may be some showers next Friday and then possibly more unsettled weather for Sunday the 16th.
