Update on the storm potential and Arctic blast:

Writer: My Personal Weatherman™My Personal Weatherman™

- Mild today for Long Island with highs in the mid to upper 50's.

- The system for late tomorrow into tomorrow night brings rain for most with snow for northern areas, especially in the higher elevations (see 2nd image), but it's a fairly quick-moving system.

- Most of the models are significantly closer with the strengthening offshore storm on Friday night, so will be watching for eastern MA and DownEast Maine, but the best chance for big snow looks to be Nova Scotia and a big storm for Newfoundland. Let's see how it trend today and tomorrow.

- Either way, we have the Arctic blast from late Saturday into Monday morning before it slowly moderates on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Christmas Day temps may still be slightly below normal for Long Island.

- After that we have the milder stretch with above normal temperatures between Christmas and New Year's Day. Colder air should return sometime in the first week of January.
