***Update on the Long Island forecast and the next 3 progressively stronger systems for the northeast***
- We have the cold and wind for today, and then the clipper for tomorrow night into Sunday morning. It looks like light snow accumulations mostly for central to northern areas. For Long Island, it could be some snow showers changing to rain showers. The overall timing for Long Island looks to be between around midnight tomorrow night and 7 AM Sunday. I have included the Model Blend snow map through Sunday.
- The next system for Monday afternoon into early Tuesday morning will be rain for Long Island, but it looks like snow and ice farther north, changing to rain for some areas. I have a map below for Monday night from the Euro.
- Then we have the stronger frontal system for Wednesday into Wednesday night with some heavier rain and potentially windy conditions for the coast with rain changing to snow well inland as colder air works in. There is the potential for 2 inches of rain for Long Island and coastal New England.
- It then looks cold for next Thursday and Friday with strong high pressure in control Friday and Saturday.
