Update on Long Island and northeast weather:

***4:25 AM post with periods of unsettled weather in the northeast the next several days with temperature swings and then the big trough comes down early next week with cold air and some snow for northern areas and 2 cold nights and then still cool with more rain possible for late next week/weekend and then milder for mid-month***

- The severe weather and major flooding threat continues for Arkansas and the Mississippi Valley area.

- The showers and thunderstorms for southern areas of the northeast thus morning will be ending as high pressure briefly pushes down into the northeast this afternoon/evening.

- Chilly tomorrow with rain and breezy conditions with an onshore flow with the wind from the ESE/SE.

- The warm front lifts through tomorrow night and then the cold front comes through on Sunday with more showers, and maybe a wave of low pressure forms along the front with more rain into Monday morning. I'll post a timing video a little later this morning.

- The trough comes down on Monday and a storm likely forms along it and brings some snow to northern areas and higher elevations on Tuesday into Tuesday night.

- Very cold, relatively, for Tuesday night with a chilly Wednesday and cold Wednesday night.

- Another storm may bring rain and some wind for late next week into Saturday.

- It does look milder for mid-month for a few days before it cools off again a bit.
