... afternoon with a seasonably chilly weekend and then the big warm-up next week with 70 degrees for parts of NJ with mid to upper 60's in NYC and low 60's for parts of Long Island⚠️⚠️
- Widespread Wind Advisories have been issued for gusts up to 50 mph from the W/WNW and there are even High Wind Warnings for the higher elevations in MA for gusts as high as 60 mph. For Long Island, the Wind Advisory is from 6 PM today to 4 PM tomorrow. The wind will gradually diminish late tomorrow into tomorrow night, but it will be windy again Saturday afternoon, but not as strong.
- There will be some Lake Effect snow and also some snow for the mountains of northern New England with snow in parts of Maine from the developing secondary storm tonight into tomorrow. I have included the Model Blend snow map below for a general idea.
- A couple of very weak systems with one sliding south of Long Island Friday night and another north of Long Island Sunday night into Monday morning, but not much expected.
- The big story next week will be the warm-up on Tuesday and especially Wednesday and into Thursday. Mid to upper 60's are possible in NYC on Wednesday (see last image). There could be some showers later in the week, but there's some uncertainty. The next front should bring rain around the 16th, but I'll update more as it gets a little closer.
