Rain and wind continues for southeastern New England with much better conditions as you head farther west, and still watching the Gulf for later next week through next weekend:

- A huge difference in weather conditions as you head east on Long Island and in southern New England today into tomorrow with it being sunny, a little breezy, and warmer farther west and cloudy and windy with rain as you head into eastern MA and possibly eastern Long Island. See 4th and 5th images for rain and wind maps.

- Cooler weather overall from Sunday into the middle of next week before some rain approaches for Long Island and the northeast by the middle to end of next week.

- The NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center is still at a 40% chance of tropical development in the western Caribbean Sea into the southern Gulf of Mexico in the next 7 days. While many models and ensembles show a hurricane forming, it's still not a lock. I have included the maps from the Euro ensembles and GFS ensembles below, and for now we just have to wait and watch it. Also, there will be more action in October, of course.
