Long Island forecast with snow maps with the GFS having the coldest solution, but Euro trends south:

Writer's picture: My Personal Weatherman™My Personal Weatherman™

- The timing of the arrival of the precipitation is now later with Long Island now likely remaining dry through the afternoon on Friday with rain or possibly a rain/sleet/snow mix arriving probably towards 7 PM and becoming windy with rain all night. There is still uncertainty in exactly where the sleet/freezing rain zone will be with the GFS the farthest south and the Euro the farthest north, but it has trended farther south. I have included the snow maps below from the GFS, Euro, and Model Blend, and I have also included a Euro timing video, and I will have more updates today.

- It looks like the period of sustained relatively colder air will arrive around the middle of next week, and I believe that this will set up 2 chances for a northeast snowstorm... around March 11th/12 and March 15th/16th, but of course the exact details are highly uncertain.
