- The National Weather Service wind gust map for Georgia was a joke, which is why I kept posting the HRRR wind gust map showing hurricane-force winds farther east and way up north into Georgia and western and northwestern South Carolina. The new map is shown in the 1st image. Helene is racing north now at 30 mph!
- Isaac will become a hurricane shortly, but it's of no concern.
- There are 3 storm formation chances out in the Atlantic, and 2 of them will likely become tropical storms or hurricanes. One should curve north early, but the trailing system has a decent chance to become a strong hurricane and could approach the Caribbean islands around October 10th. Lots of time to watch it.
- The earlier concern though is the chance for another tropical storm or hurricane in the Gulf next weekend into early the following week. The GFS and Canadian have it go up towards the central Gulf coast, but the Euro ensembles mostly have it eventually head towards the northwestern Florida coast. I will continue to post updates. Overall, it's a low to moderate chance.
