- Moderate to locally heavy rain continues early this morning for eastern areas of the northeast with it slowly shifting eastward and rainfall totals of 1.5 to nearly 3 inches possible in some areas. The rain won't end until late tonight for eastern areas, and it will end as snow for extreme northern New England.

- Mild days continue tomorrow and Wednesday with clouds increasing again late Wednesday ahead of the cold front. A secondary area of low pressure will form near the New England coast Thursday night and with colder air working in behind the front, rain will change to snow for central to northern areas, especially higher elevations, from west to east into Friday. It will also become very windy behind the storm on Friday into Friday evening/night with chilly air!

- Looks like a weak system will swing through this weekend with a little snow to the north and maybe some showers farther south, and then another storm for next Tuesday, which could bring some snow for inland and central to northern areas of the northeast.

- Overall, starting this weekend, temperatures will be closer to normal for a while with some days a little above or below normal.
