***4:20 AM update on the tropics (Hurricane Kirk, soon-to-be Leslie, and low-potential Milton for the Gulf) and the Long Island forecast with a warm Saturday, cold front Monday with some showers, but not much rain overall for the next 10 days, and cooler weather next week!***
- No changes with Hurricane Kirk as it will become a large and powerful hurricane and turn north WAY east of Bermuda and head out.
- Leslie will likely form later today or tomorrow and also become a hurricane, but there's a large spread in the tracks as you can see in the ensembles map below. Either way though, it's highly likely to turn north fairly early before getting close to the northeastern Caribbean islands or Bermuda.
- The NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center is still at a 40% chance of tropical development in the Gulf, but either way, it looks like a lot of rain for southern to central Florida next week.
- The mostly dry weather for Long Island continues with the best chance of showers coming Monday morning from a strong cold front with cooler weather to follow it with highs generally in the low to mid 60's with lows in the upper 40's from next Tuesday to next Friday with mostly sunny skies.
