- Before then, we have our quiet weather with more clouds today for eastern Long Island with snow showers for southeastern MA.
- We have the warming tend later this week with a very weak frontal system that will brings clouds for Friday/Saturday with a slight chance of a shower.
- Colder air then filters into the northeast early next week while a potential storm system forms over the southern states and moves northeast off the coast and strengthens. There is a little better agreement now in the timing with it possibly being from Monday night into Tuesday, although the GFS has it a little later. The Euro does have it become a really strong storm and brings enough cold air for it to be snow on Long Island, but it's still very uncertain as its ensemble members show with less than 20% of them showing snow for Long Island. The Model Blend and Euro ensemble mean both show the best chance for snow bring north of Long Island (see last 2 images), but stay tuned!
- Behind the storm, it will be cold and probably a fairly quiet President's Day weekend with maybe only a weak clipper system passing by.
- Relatively cold air will remain for a while, and there will be storm chances later in the month and into March.
