... outbreak behind the storm, and the snow potential for late-next week is still on the table (as a possibility) as the Euro has it and more ensembles have it again, especially for Long Island and coastal areas.❄️☃️

- We have today's system bringing snow and ice to the north with rain ending for Long Island by early afternoon with mild temperatures, and then it becomes very windy and cold tonight.

- The cold air will be in place with snow developing across the northeast on Saturday. Even for Long Island, there should be at least several hours of snow before it changes to rain from south to north in the evening. There will probably be 3 to 6 inches of snow in parts of southern New England before changing to freezing rain (and rain for southeastern areas at least). Exactly how far northwest the mixing gets is still TBD, but the Euro finally looks more realistic. Northern and western areas of the northeast will likely stay all snow with major accumulations as the storm really intensifies on Sunday and some places north of Long Island will change back to snow before ending Sunday night.

- Very windy and cold behind the storm with the cold air lasting a while. The Arctic air goes all the way south into Texas.

- The Euro does have the snowstorm late next week for the Mid-Atlantic and northeast, but it's far from set in stone. However, more ensemble members have it again than in yesterday's run. In the northeast, the best chances are probably from NJ to Long Island and southeastern New England, as of now.
