... the VERY cold air behind it for Saturday night into Monday and then the big storm with rain/wind for the middle of next week with inland back-end snow possible and then below normal temps again behind the storm***
- A mild day again for Long Island with periods of rain, and snow is currently in progress for central areas of the northeast as it changes to rain as it moves northeastward.
- Breezy and cooler tomorrow with increasing clouds late as the clipper brings some snow for central to northern areas of the northeast tomorrow night into Saturday at times. Very mild again for Long Island with only a very slight chance of a passing shower on Saturday.
- Arctic air moves in behind the cold front for Saturday night with windy conditions into Sunday with even lower temperatures for Sunday night with temperatures in the mid to upper teens for Long Island.
- It warms up again for the middle of the week as the center of the big storm is well inland, so there will be rain for the entire northeast with a period of heavier rain/wind as the cold front moves through sometime Wednesday night. There is a chance for snow on the back-side of the storm on Thursday for inland areas of the northeast, especially in the higher elevations.
- Below normal temperatures then return behind the storm, and there is a chance for some unsettled weather the weekend of the 8th/9th, and after that it turns mild again before mid-month with below normal temperatures for the western part of the United States.
