... evening along the Arctic boundary, the frigid weather early/mid next week, and the potential for snow/ice for the deep south next week❄️🥶
- Another cold and windy day in the northeast today
- A clipper moves through tomorrow afternoon/evening with snow showers that could make it to Long Island and southern New England by late afternoon or early evening.
- Friday is the pick of the week with blue skies, light winds, and it won't be quite as cold, so it will feel pretty nice. Saturday afternoon/evening is the minor frontal system with some showers for Long Island and southern New England and a little snow for the northern areas,
- Then we have the wave of low pressure that will form along the Arctic boundary that should bring some snow for the northern Mid-Atlantic, including Long Island, and into southern/central/eastern New England. It won't be a strong storm, and it will be pretty fast-moving, so it's mostly a 1 to 4 inch event. The GFS has it offshore, but the Euro has been consistent with it, and I have included the snow map below for a general idea for now.
- Arctic air then comes in for Monday into Thursday with the worst of it being from Monday evening into Wednesday afternoon.
- There is a decent chance for a southern storm next Tuesday/Wednesday that may bring snow and ice very far south. Only a slight chance that it comes up the coast a bit for Wed/Thursday if the storm is delayed a bit and the Arctic air moves out a little faster.
- Then there may also be another storm to watch for the following weekend (Jan 25th/26th).
