***4:30 AM update on Northern Lights, potential for Nadine, northeast storm/chilly blast, and the Long Island forecast***

- Amazing photos from everyone of the Northern Lights last night! It may still be visible now before dawn as it looks like the Kp index stayed between around 7.5 and 8.5 overnight. It will be much weaker tonight.

- We do have Invest 94L off the coast of Africa and right now it looks impressive, and the NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center is giving it a 40% chance and is saying it could become a short-lived Tropical Depression or Tropical Storm (Nadine is the next name) before conditions become unfavorable. The Euro ensembles are showing it generally heading westward and staying weak and disorganized, but a handful of the ensembles are showing it becoming a tropical storm or hurricane as it gets to the Caribbean islands. It's something to watch. The tracks then diverge wildly once it gets in the vicinity of Puerto Rico. It appears that the chances for the separate system in the western Caribbean to form have decreased a bit, although there is still a chance for tropical development in 7 to 10 days.

- There will be a low pressure system and sharp trough in the northeast for early next week with some rain and windy conditions with a chilly air mass behind it for the middle of next week. Higher elevation wet snow will even be possible Monday or Monday night.

- The Long Island forecast graphic is posted below with a couple of beautiful days before the cold front and some showers ahead of the cool air mass with chilly nights in the low 40's.
