... next few days and the big warm-up next week from Monday and generally lasting until the following Monday (St. Patrick's Day) as the unsettled weather with rain/wind eventually makes it here around the 16th/17th, but details are uncertain.***

- The big storm (see 2nd image) is strengthening and bringing snow to Maine and it will eventually deepen to around 966 mb and even lower than that. The tight pressure gradient is bringing the strong winds to the northeast today especially this morning (see 3rd image). The wind will be absolutely ripping in the higher elevations. The wind will gradually diminish later today and tonight, but the wind will increase again tomorrow, but not as strong as today. Sunday will be breezy as well.

- Below normal temperatures tomorrow with the wind will make it feel cold.

- Temperatures start to increase on Sunday and then even milder Monday and Tuesday with peak temperatures probably being on Wednesday (see 6th image) with highs in the mid 60's for New York City. Temperatures for Long Island will obviously be cooler for the south shore and east.

- The strong storm for the center of the country later next week eventually has a front or frontal system make it here around the 16th/17th with some rain and wind, but details are uncertain as to whether it's just a cold front or a storm develops along the front.
