***4:25 AM update on the Long Island forecast, the northeast rain/snow/wind, and the brief Arctic blast, as well as comments on next week with milder air and rain.***

- The cold weather in the northeast continues and then we have the system approaching for Wednesday evening into Thursday with a track to the north and a trailing cold front that will bring snow north of Long Island, especially in the higher elevations and in northern Maine. It will become VERY windy Thursday afternoon into Friday morning with gusts up to 40 mph, higher at elevation and along the coast (see last image).

- Very cold Thursday night into Saturday morning with frigid wind chills up north.

- A weak clipper may pass through northern areas of the northeast Saturday night with some light snow.

- It looks like a warm-up early next week with a storm cutting inland that will probably bring rain for most of the northeast around next Monday night into Tuesday morning with the potential for another one next Thursday.
